It's crazy to think but literally one month after I came back from my 1st solo trip, I met my soon to be husband and now fiancé ! I must admit I was truly enjoying my single season and not really looking or worried about being somebody's wife, at the time.
If I could go back, I would have started my solo traveling journey sooner. This does not mean I have any regrets but I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit led me to take my 1st ever solo trip !
Solo travel is such a great way to enjoy and love on you, while experiencing the beauty of God's Earth.
HERE ARE 5 REASONS TO SOLO TRAVEL WHILE YOUR SINGLE :
1. YOU ARE SINGLE

Not trying to throw it in your face but your single season is the best time to do it !!
Life can happen fast so take every opportunity to try new things.
Before you know it, your husband will find you, you’ll start having kids, and other life events can occur that can hold you back even more.
Even for myself, now that I'm engaged and on my way to marriage, I don't see myself traveling by myself no time soon. My hope is that maybe later one day I could get that opportunity again, but there is no certainty with that one as of now.
This is why I am here, encouraging you to solo travel while your single ! If this idea has come to mind and fear keeps getting in the way of you to do it, ask the Holy Spirit to help you with this. Trust and know that He is willing to help and He is with you wherever you go.
2. YOU GET TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YOURSELF

Solo traveling allowed me to see how I truly love to enjoy traveling because it was just me.
Friends are always fun to travel with but it also puts you in a position to compromise how you prefer to travel.
Don't get me wrong, I love traveling with friends but it is a beautiful feeling to do what you want, when you want, and how you want to do it !
I know for myself I learned that I love waking up early to hike, exploring the town, journaling my experiences, reading a good book, making time to be a beach bum for a whole day, and going out to dance the night away. But I also knew, if I was with my friends, I would have compromised some of these things so everyone could enjoy the trip and stick together.
Again, I'm not against group trips but I found myself learning more and more about myself each day. It truly was a beautiful process and God showed me new things about myself as well.
3. YOU GET TO LOVE ON YOURSELF

Solo travel is the best way to pamper yourself and get some good self care in.
Self love is the best gift you could ever give yourself so why not go all out !
Traveling is definitely a luxury so why not give yourself that !!! You only owe it to yourself !!
I'm an introvert so for me this was definitely a special treat to truly experience peace of mind and get away from all the noise that can come from work and my busy life. It truly allowed me to rest and rest in God's presence as well.
From journaling, nature/scenery walks, bumming on the beach, and more the amount of accesible self care activities was endless. I would definitely add getting a massage on the beach as well is a major self care bonus treat to yourself.
It's also a plus that you don't have to budget with others on how much you should spend on things you want to do. You can spend however much you want on yourself without any questions and in full confidence that you are worth it !
Just know you will leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after your solo trip !
4 . YOU GET TO MEET NEW PEOPLE

I know for my introvert friends this may sound a little scary, but honestly this turned out to be one of my favorite things about traveling solo dolo. Meeting new people actually turned out to be very exciting and has led to some of my best travel memories.
Traveling solo puts you outside your comfort zone and allows the opportunity for you to surprise yourself by taking risks.
Now in my hometown would I go up to random people and have conversations ??? ... ummm probably not. But being completely by myself allowed me to spot other solo travelers like myself so I could start up conversations and actually get good advice as well when it comes to traveling alone or where to go.
I remember when I went to Hawaii, I met this girl at the top of a crater after hiking, and then we spent the rest of the day together. We got some smoothies, went to chill and catch the waves at the bay and even talked about our plans for tomorrow and where we could meet up. Like it's crazy what can happen, when you're alone but you'll never know until you try.
Whatever you do, don't stay glued to your phone the whole time so you can give room for people to approach you. Learn to enjoy the nature, be observant of the people around you, and take a risk or two by starting up some conversations. Trust me, it's not as bad as it seems.
5. YOU GET TO BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE IN NEW WAYS

Traveling alone, makes a lot of room for you to trust yourself more and to trust God with leading you more as well.
Traveling solo gives you the opportunity to think for yourself and become confident in your choices.
I must admit I'm not the best at following directions or being quick to make decisions . I usually am dependable on someone else when it comes to remembering my route, and helping me with making decisions .
However, by myself I was confident in knowing the right directions to go and the right choices of the places I wanted to go by myself. From food, fun, creating a good itinerary, and more, I definitely felt empowered and proud to say “I DID THAT” !!!!
Welp that’s it and hope this blog has inspired you to go and see the world BY YOURSELF !
No need to wait on anyone else, JUST GO !!!! It’s so worth it.
