How to Plan with Jesus in Mind

Writer: Crissy Roe 💚💗Crissy Roe 💚💗

It's so easy to make plans without even thinking for ourselves these days. Friends text us about meeting up, our jobs give us plans with so many tasks to complete and taking care of our families can make it hard to schedule time for ourselves. But did you know that Jesus wants us to plan with Him as well?

Jeremiah 29:11 states " For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

This scripture is a great reference on why we should plan with Jesus in mind. It even states how He knows the plans for us, but we will never know what those plans are if we are not making time to plan with Jesus.

Our schedules can become so busy that it makes it hard sometimes to squeeze Jesus in, but our schedules should be wrapped around Jesus instead and not the other way around.

Here are 5 steps to better help you plan with Jesus in mind:

1. Commit to a Schedule to Meet with Jesus

The same way we have planners, calendars, and phones to keep up with dates for work, events, and more is the same way we should use these tools to spend time with Jesus.

Proverbs 16:3 states "Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed."

That word commit means "to give in charge or entrust". This scripture is a command for us to let Jesus have His way with our plans but that requires us to take action that shows we believe He will make our plans succeed. We can't just say I want to spend time with Jesus but in our actions, we are watching T.V, working for our own desires, or always on social media.
